Last Sunday some of us spent the day in the beautiful Castell Coch. In 1875 William Burgess was commissioned by the Marquis of Bute to build a medieval style fantasy on the site of an ancient castle.
The children saw a very authentic looking Sion Corn.
I visited here a few years ago, thought it was wonderful especially the painted interiors. If I remember correctly it was built for his wife who didn't like it.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, It's certainly a beautiful place. I don't know what Lady Bute thought of it, but I gather that she appreciated the central heating, hot water and so on.
